Exciting news…Will is going to be back in action at his hometown track, Salem Speedway…and soon. Over the weekend, Will has entered the ASA Challenge race this Saturday, July 19th. Although this is a last minute deal, Will is very excited to return to the high banks of Salem Speedway. Last year, Will became the youngest driver ever to win a Super Late Model Championship at the famous race track. For those who do not know, it has been a very busy 2008. Will is the jackman for his uncle, Frank Kimmel’s ARCA team for the 2008 season. Although Will has not been in the driver’s seat as much as he would have liked to so far in 2008, he has been very active in the racing world. Helping out Uncle Frank is not new to Will, as he has been part of the ARCA team the past few years, just not as a full time over-the-wall team member. A few weeks ago, Will helped out Wayne Hixson by starting his ARCA car at Cayuga Motor Speedway in Nelles Corners Ontario. Will was able to get in some practice laps and qualified 26th . After the drop of the green flag, Will made 2 laps then pulled in, where he quickly got ready for his position back on the Kimmel Racing team. It seems like never a weekend goes by without Will being at a race track, whether driving, working or as a spectator! The schedule for this weekend’s ASA race has been posted, just click on the schedule button. Will is going to be practicing Friday afternoon at Salem Speedway, then he will be headed to Kentucky Speedway for the ARCA Re/Max race, which is scheduled to start at 8pm. The ASA Challenge Race, which is 200 laps, is scheduled to start Saturday at 8:30pm at Salem Speedway. Will is also going to be at the 2nd Annual ACL Fan Fest this Thursday, July 17th at American Commercial Lines (Jeff Boat) with his car and team. Come out and bring the family to this local event that will take place from 5pm-8pm with an autograph session to also include some Nascar Craftsman Truck drivers and ARCA drivers. More information will be posted regarding the car, team, etc as the week progresses. Thanks to everyone for their continued support of Will Kimmel Racing.
