CLARKSVILLE, IN (February 8, 2013) - In the wake of Daytona Speed Weeks,
the Kimmel clan is gearing up in chilly Indiana. Will Kimmel, the driver of the
Kimmel Racing #68 Ford Fusion, will be making only his 2nd start at the Daytona
International Speedway. He’ll be one of two Ford Fusion’s entered under the
Kimmel Racing banner. The other entry will be the #69 driven by Texas native,
Steve Kemp.
Kimmel will pilot the same car he raced to a third place finish in his debut last year.
“I’m really excited to get back to Daytona, “ says Kimmel. “We made some really
good improvements to our car throughout the winter.”
With a strong Roush Yates engine under the hood and the support from his
sponsors: Gary Yeomans Ford a leading Ford dealer in Florida - with a convenient
location right near the track in Daytona Beach, Circle Track Magazine the #1
source for advanced racing technology and Messina Wildlife Management the best
performing organic animal repellant brand; Kimmel is confident they have a great
piece.
Father, Bill Kimmel, will be on the pit box making calls during the Lucas Oil 200
presented by MAVTV American Real. “Will listens really well and we work great as
a team,” says Bill. “ With the finish we had last year, I’m hoping Will can bring the car
to victory lane, something no Kimmel has done before at Daytona.”
Kimmel admits he’s “anxious and has some nerves” but nonetheless he’s looking
forward to getting to Daytona and laying some laps.
Kimmel has finished no worse than 6th at a Super Speedway, thus far, in his racing
career; making him a favorite this weekend at Daytona.
In just 9 short days, the ARCA Racing Series, presented by Menards, will take the
green flag for the Lucas Oil 200, presented by MAVTV American Real. Tune in on
