Mooresville, N.C. (February 25, 2014) - Ingersoll Rand will be on board the No. 44 TriStar Motorsports Camry this weekend at Phoenix International Raceway with NASCAR Nationwide Series rookie, Will Kimmel behind the wheel.

Kimmel will turn his first laps on the one-mile, tri-oval on Friday during Nationwide Series practice and he will take the green flag on Saturday for his second career Nationwide Series start. Kimmel's previous Nationwide Series start came back in 2011 when he raced at Kentucky Speedway. After qualifying 15th, Kimmel finished in the 35th position.

This Indiana native is also the nephew of 10-time ARCA Racing Series Champion Frank Kimmel. Kimmel has had an enduring relationship with Ingersoll Rand since 2012. In addition to running a limited Nationwide Series schedule with TriStar Motorsports, Kimmel will continue to run in the ARCA Series for Kimmel Racing in 2014.

Be sure to tune into the Blue Jeans Go Green 200 on Saturday, March 1 at 3:45PM ET.

Messina Wildlife Returns to Sponsor Will

The third-generation racer is also getting some help with his ARCA program. Longtime Kimmel Racing supporter and sponsor Messina Wildlife Management will be returning to Kimmel Racing's ARCA program in 2014. 
"Will Kimmel is the total package," said James Messina, Vice President of Messinas. 

"What we do for them is pretty miniscule, but whatever we can do, we do. Will does a great job of representing our company, and we're honored to be working with him and his father. Will is not only extremely qualified to be behind the wheel, he's also got something that the rest just don't have. Companies like ours are looking for people like him. They're hard to find - ones that have the genuine qualities that are so valuable. Will's got those qualities top to bottom. 

"I told him last year that he was going to be in the top-10 in points, and that we were looking forward to seeing him up there on stage at the banquet, and he ended up eighth. (January 21, 2014) - For the second consecutive year, TriStar Motorsports welcomes Ingersoll Rand back for the 2014 NASCAR Nationwide Series season.  Ingersoll Rand, a global leader in air compressors, tools, fluid management and material handling equipment, will serve as an associate sponsor on all of TriStar Motorsports Toyota Camry's for the 33-race Nationwide Series schedule. Additionally, Ingersoll Rand will run five primary races with the No. 44 TriStar Motorsports Camry, with their first race at Phoenix International Raceway on March 1, 2014.

ARCA Racing Series regular, Will Kimmel, will be in the cockpit of the No. 44 Ingersoll Rand Toyota Camry throughout the five primary events. Kimmel, the nephew of 10-time ARCA Racing Series Champion Frank Kimmel, has had an enduring relationship with Ingersoll Rand since 2012. Kimmel, who races for his family owned team Kimmel Racing, scored seven top five and 19 top-10 finishes across his six year tenure in the ARCA Racing Series. Phoenix will be Kimmel's second Nationwide Series start and his first at the 1.5 mile track.

Circle Track renews/expands Kimmel Deal

Circle Track Magazine, the #1 Source for Advanced Racing Technology, announced today that it has renewed its personal services agreement with ARCA Racing Series driver Will Kimmel. Kimmel, the third generation racer from Sellersburg, Indiana will represent the Tampa, Florida based publication for the 2014 season.

Kimmel and Circle Track, the largest short track racing media platform in the country enjoyed a successful year together that saw the 25 year old finish 8th in the ARCA Series points standings while competing in a handful of Street Stock races at his home track of Salem Speedway. With a solid relationship built, they plan on expanding their activities in 2014 with a brand new project.

“Toward the latter portion of last year, Will and I were discussing some ideas regarding Late Models and how we could take some of the technology we present in the pages of Circle Track and merge it with what Will and his team do at the ARCA level,” explained Publisher Rob Fisher. “Would it work? Would it not work? We’re going to find out.”

“Racers are always innovating, trying new things. It’s how you find better ways to go faster,” said Kimmel. “We came up with a concept for a Super Late Model that incorporates a truck arm style rear end with a more conventional Late Model front end. While it’s been tried a few times in the past, we are adding some pretty unique features that should make the car very competitive.”

Upon hearing of the idea Fisher thought it that it would make an excellent platform for a Circle Track project car. So, working with Kimmel’s Indiana based team and veteran North Carolina car builder Billy Hess, the trio set out to build what was aptly dubbed Project SLM. The car debuted to a great deal of interest at the 2013 Performance Racing Industry trade show in Indianapolis.

But this car isn’t just going to be a showpiece. A heavy testing schedule is planned for the car to dial in the rather unconventional setup. Once complete Fisher and Kimmel plan on campaigning the car at five marquee Super Late Model races in 2014 including the Winchester 400 and the Snowball Derby.

“At Circle Track we build cars, we test cars and we race cars, so it is only natural that we put this latest project into competition at the highest level,” said Fisher.

Beyond the track, Kimmel will also be featured in both promotional videos and technical articles as well as acting as a spokesman for the 30 year old publication. Many of those articles will focus on Project SLM.

Everyone in our family has been reading the magazine for years, so we all know how big and how influential they are.” said Kimmel. “They cater to real racers with real hardcore technical articles that teach something every time you open an issue. Cunningham calls Kimmel for Pocono

(LONG POND, Pa. - June 8, 2013) - Cunningham Motorsports has long been considered one of the top development teams in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. The ownership group, a combination of Kerry Scherer and Briggs Cunningham, has fostered the careers of several drivers on their way to NASCAR - most recently the careers of Parker Kligerman and Alex Bowman, both of whom compete fulltime in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.
Here at Pocono for Saturday's running of the Pocono ARCA 200, Will Kimmel got the call to drive the famous No. 22 Cunningham car. A phone call, and a little help from Messina Wildlife Management and Circle Track Magazine, both of which are sponsoring the third-generation ARCA driver at Pocono.
"Cunningham provided the great equipment, and Messina Wildlife and Circle Track made it possible for me to drive the car," Kimmel said.
"The car is so good. We tested on Wednesday, which I think made all the difference. In the past, when I've been able to race here, we never got to test, so the race really became our test. But when you do that, you're sometimes chasing it more than you're racing it."
Cunningham Motorsports is headed up, from the competition side, by NASCAR champion crew chief Paul Andrews.
"Paul is so up to speed on this intermediate stuff, and understands these cars better than anyone. He baselined the car, so it was good right off the trailer. Paul and dad have been fine tuning it all week."
While Cunningham Motorsports is the new cog in the wheel for Kimmel, he'll have a familiar face on the pit box for the race. His father Bill Kimmel, who has always been his crew chief no matter the car or team, will call the shots from the pit box. Bill was a renowned late model racer in his day, winning races and track championships, and has also earned the Cometic Crew Chief of the Year award eight times for his brother Frank Kimmel.
Will's No. 22 Messina Wildlife Management-Circle Track Magazine Dodge starts third in the race today after qualifying was rained out Friday. The field was set by current car owner points.
"I like our chances (in the race)," Will added.
"I really like Pocono, and track position, especially here, is everything. But I love this track. So many tracks we race on are the same, or similar. This one's so different compared to anything else we do. It keeps your attention; that's for sure. Each corner is so different than the other, but you have to figure out a way to be good in all three. If you lose your momentum in any corner here, it takes a while to get it back.
"I really think we've got a shot to win this thing. I like where we're starting. One of the things we learned at the test was that this car - well it's good no matter the situation - but it's exceptionally good in the long runs. This series, if you look at its history over the last few years, you're seeing a lot more long, green runs, and I think that could play into our hands today.
"If Venturini (4 cars in the race) doesn't slow down, they'll be tough to beat, but there are several cars you'll have to keep an eye on today. You're going to have watch the 15, the 9, the 44, and the 77, and keep an eye on us too."
Will, driving for Kimmel Racing, finished a career-best second at Salem Speedway twice. He also finished third at Daytona in 2012.
The Pocono ARCA 200, the 56th ARCA race at Pocono Raceway since 1983, is live on SPEED Saturday at 1:00 p.m. eastern. All on-track activity will also be featured in live timing and scoring at ARCAracing.com

Kimmel Signs with Circle Track

Circle Track Magazine, the #1 Source for Advanced Racing Technology, announced today that it has signed a personal services agreement with ARCA Racing Series driver Will Kimmel. Kimmel, the third generation racer from Sellersburg, Indiana will represent the Tampa, Florida based publication for the 2013 season.

Kimmel will be featured in both promotional videos and technical articles as well as acting as a spokesman for the 30 year old publication. The signing is a break from traditional magazine marketing programs but is part of a much larger program.

“We have designed an aggressive promotional program for 2013 that is geared toward building Circle Track’s reach far beyond the 200,000+ loyal racers we have following us both in print and online,” explained Publisher Rob Fisher. “In order to accomplish our goals one of the key elements we needed was a young up and coming but well known racer that still maintains a strong connection with their roots. Will Kimmel is that racer.”

Fisher says that Kimmel bridges that gap between the national touring series racer and the grassroots guy who runs his local track week in and week out. “One of the things that we liked about Will was the fact that when he is not mixing it up at Daytona or Talladega, you can usually find him running his street stock at one of the local tracks in and around his Indiana home. And those are our people, our readers, our customers…the Saturday night racer.”

For Kimmel the deal represents the type of exposure most up and coming racers can only dream about. “I’m so excited to be working with Circle Track. Everyone in our family has been reading the magazine for years, so we all know how big and how influential they are.” said Kimmel. “They cater to real racers with real hardcore technical articles that teach something every time you open an issue. Unfortunate Circumstances Hinder Kimmel Racing’s Effort at Daytona

Daytona Beach, FL (February 16, 2013) Discouraging is the key word for the conclusion of the Lucas Oil 200 at Daytona presented by MAVTV American Real, for Kimmel Racing. “It’s just upsetting when you go into an event  as a low budget team, and perform equal, if not better as the teams with more resource’s and end the race tore up in the garage,” says Will Kimmel.  Will is the driver of the #68 Ford Fusion for Kimmel Racing. He started the race in the 20th spot and quickly found his way into the top 15 within a couple laps.  Wills ability to put himself in the right position allowed him to put the Gary Yeomans Ford into the top 5 when the uncontrollable happened. As he entered turn 3, his left rear Hoosier tire exploded, ripping out the left rear window and C-post, sending debris into the cockpit.  “I thought the driveshaft was coming at me, with all that was flying around in the car,” declares Will.  “It was just an unfortunate situation that I had no control over. “

Will Kimmel’s bad luck was not the only low for Kimmel Racing. The other Ford Fusion driven by Steve Kemp was involved in a wreck that he too, had no control over. “I came down pit road to avoid the wreck that was occurring, as I was exiting, a car came down across the track and collected me,” says Kemp.  Steve was settling in, drafting mid-pack, when the caution came out.

Although, Kimmel Racing produced two strong cars that were exceptional in the draft, they wound up finishing 33rd and 37th. “There’s nothing you can do when things like this happen, we’ll just pack up and head home and work on the next race,” says Crew Chief and Owner Bill Kimmel. 

Kimmel Racing will enter the next ARCA series race at Mobile International Speedway on March 9th.

Kimmel Racing Surges To Third Place Finish At Daytona
"Father-Son Duo Surge To Podium Finish In Season-Opener"
DAYTONA BEACH, Florida (February 20, 2012) - - Kimmel Racing opened up the 60th season of competition for the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) with a fresh face and a lot of unknowns. However, by the end of Saturday night's Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200, it was Will Kimmel who shined into the spotlight by producing a thrilling third-place effort at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway.

Kimmel taking the vacated seat of his Uncle, Frank Kimmel was optimistic heading into his second career start at "The World Center of Racing." Primed and ready in his No. 68 Enterprise Software Development / Clarksville Schwinn Ford Fusion when Thursday morning arrived, it was time to get down to business.

In the first practice session of the weekend, Kimmel in his blue-oval produced the 15th fastest time overall in an affair that was consisted of both drafting and single-car runs. Under the guidance of his father and multiple ARCA championship crew chief Bill Kimmel, the duo consulted about ideas to make minor tweaks for their No. 68 Enterprise Software Development / Clarksville Schwinn Ford Fusion in time for Menards pole qualifying presented by Ansell on Friday afternoon.

In time trials, Kimmel circled the legendary racetrack in 50.375 seconds topping a speed of 178.660 miles per hour which lined the Indiana-based team in the 21st position. Safely in the starting field, the team turned their attention to the short but influential final practice session on Saturday morning to fine-tune their automobile for ARCA's version of the Super Bowl.

Acquiring the ninth fastest time overall in the "happy hour" practice session, the Kimmel Racing team remained optimistic despite their No. 68 Enterprise Software Development / Clarksville Schwinn Ford Fusion wasn't exactly drafting to their liking.

43 cars took the green flag with Kimmel easing his way towards the front. Climbing into the top-20 by the end of the first lap, Kimmel's blue-oval continued to climb the leaderboard until the race's first caution occurred on lap six when Milka Duno went for a spin on the frontstretch.

Electing to utilize pit strategy, the call from atop of the pit box was to bring the 23-year old to pit road to top off the fuel tank. Restarting in the 29th position on lap 13, Kimmel would have to show extreme patience as he tactically began working his way back towards the front.

Another caution for Leilani Munter jumbled up the field again but with Kimmel restarting the event on lap 17 in the 19th position. Methodically, the No. 68 Enterprise Software Development / Clarksville Schwinn Ford Fusion continued its march forward and entered the top-10 on lap 47.

Continuing to hover in a single-car formation, Kimmel would squeeze underneath the No. 58 of Chad Hackenbracht on lap 60 to steal another position in the top-10.

A multi-car incident ensued on lap 69 with Kimmel knocking on the door of entering the top-five. A restart with five laps remaining would begin to seal up the exciting finish in the 49th ARCA race held at Daytona International Speedway.

With some cars electing to make a trip down pit lane for a splash of fuel, Kimmel would take the lap 75 restart in the fourth position behind fellow Ford driver Chris Buescher (No. 17). While Buescher tried to make an attempt to pass second-place second Chris Windom on the outside, Kimmel kept his No. 68 Enterprise Software Development / Clarksville Schwinn Ford Fusion on the yellow-line freight-training the No. 17 and moving into third.

Buescher brought out the final caution of the race on lap 78 when we tagged from behind by another competitor setting up for a green-white-checkered finish. With father Bill encouraging his driver to try his best and save fuel, the family-owned team knew they had the opportunity to win ARCA's most prestigious events.

On the restart, Kimmel remained glued to the yellow line on the back bumpers of McReynolds and Windom. The group would take the white flag with Kimmel searching for a way to maneuver past the two leaders.

As the field thundered out of turn four, both leaders nearly simultaneously ran out of gas forcing Kimmel to take abrasive maneuvers to avoid a collision but it allowed the Chevrolets of Bobby Gerhart and Drew Charlson to make a bold move to the outside to take the checkered flag first and second. Brett Hudson and Nelson Canache both made moves underneath Kimmel for third coming to the stripe but ARCA officials quickly would yank those positions away from them for passing below the yellow line to move Kimmel from fifth into the third position in the final rundown.

"Wow, that was crazy," said Kimmel, who collected just his third top-five finish of his ARCA career. "We had a shot at winning the race but when those guys ran out of gas, I had to check-up and I was done. I tried to keep those guys from passing me but it was already then too late. At that point, I was happy to finish fifth, but when they penalized them and moved us back into third, it was even a better feeling."

He added, "I can't thank everyone on this Kimmel Racing team for all of their support and dedication. We have an all-volunteer crew and we picked up some sponsorship from Enterprise Software Development and man, I'm happy for them. Hopefully this run will help us moving forward and we can acquire some more sponsorship that will keep us in the ARCA championship battle."

Kimmel unofficially sits third in the ARCA championship standings just 10 points from leader Bobby Gerhart. Kimmel though could inherit the point's lead by traveling to Mobile (Ala.) International Speedway for round two on March 10 as Gerhart and Charlson are not expected to enter that event.

Next up for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards will be the first of two stops in the state of Alabama with the sanctions first ever visit to Mobile (Ala.) International Speedway for the running of the Mobile ARCA 200 on Saturday, March 10.
